3D Logo Test

Using lightwave, I created a 3d model for channel 7. The main inspiration was taken from channel 4's first ident created by Martin Lambie-Nairn.

Vector logo in cutout cardboard

The production then developed with the introduction of a vector logo. This style fits better against the background.

Punga’s animal magic for Temaiken Bioparque”

Buenos Aires based studio Punga have created two stop-motion inspired spots for Temaiken Bioparque (Biopark is apparently a PC way of saying Zoo).

Convert & Jon Klassen: RBC Blue Water Project

This gentle spot for RBC’s Blue Water Project directed by The Ebeling’s Group’s Convert charms me with its earthy palette and restrained animation style. Each comp is well planned but not overly wrought, walking the line between minimalism and an easy-going gestural style for a blend that’s calm and approachable.

Big props to Jon Klassen, whose illustration style defined the aesthetic for the spot. He’s a perfect match for the message at hand. If you’re new to Klassen’s work, make sure to watch “An Eye for Annai” after you’ve checked out his illustration portfolio.

Visually this piece of animation is subtle. flat and deep space is interesting, an approach which I could include in my project.

Martha Colburn

Martha Colburn uses cut-and-paste animation techniques to create collage films that are both fantastical and stubbornly rooted in the material. Her recent films use hand-manipulated gels and "special effects" on found footage and original animations. In addition to Myth Labs, the artist will present short films spanning her entire career, each accompanied by a rotating ensemble of seven musicians and foley artists. Martha will also be performing an improvised expanded cinema work incorporating 16mm film, slides and sound.

Martha Colburn is an animator, filmmaker, and artist who lives and works in New York, NY. Her films have been presented by museums and film festivals around the world, including the Centre Pompidou, the 2006 Whitney Biennial, the Sundance Film Festival, and the Stedelijk Museum. She has collaborated and toured with indie rock band Deerhoof, and has recorded six music albums. Her work has been supported by the New York Foundation on the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts, and the Jerome Foundation.

yellow shed is a collaborative  effort between two artists, Soyeon Kim and Todd Hemker, whose specialties are in various animation techniques, illustration and design. Since 2001, the two have been involved with a broad range of projects, working professionally in the world of advertising and film production as directors, art directors, designers and animators.

There work is very beautiful and creative. It has given me great inspiration.
